Chris brings over 20 years of Business Experience to velofix. His Senior Management experience includes growing a company to $90 million and a successful IPO, launching an Internet startup that has raised $45 million in financing and driving growth at a $30 billion dollar consumer packaged goods company.

Chris is active in endurance sports and his most recent results are a 2:54 Boston Marathon & a 38th overall finish at IronMan Canada 2012.

Chris is a graduate of the SFU Executive Management Program.

Davide’s business experience includes President of a Real Estate Investment Trust and Senior Management at a Renewable Energy Company.

Davide has represented Canada at the Olympic and World Cup levels of soccer. He finished his professional career in Europe and North America in 2005.

Davide has a Finance Degree from the Pamplin School of Business at the University of Portland.

Charles Chang holds an equity position and Board Member seat with velofix.

Charles is a born entrepreneur with a passion for innovation, active living and mentoring. Charles is the President and Founder of Lyra Growth Partners, which was started in September 2015. Prior to Lyra, Charles was the President and Founder of Vega.

Started from scratch from his basement in 2004 and financed by his life savings, a second mortgage on his house and four credit cards, Charles lead Vega to become an iconic lifestyle brand of clean, plant-based nutritional products sold in over 20,000 stores across North America.

Honoring a triple bottom line approach to business and recognizing people were the company’s greatest source of competitive advantage, Vega and Charles have received many accolades and awards, including: Profit 100 Fastest Growing Companies, Best Workplaces, BIV 40 Under 40, Canada’s Best Managed Companies and E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year.

Jim Treliving serves as co -chairman and co- owner of T&M Management Services Ltd. alongside his long time business partner George Melville. T&M is a multi-faceted organization with a diverse group of businesses including: Boston Pizza International, the leading casual dining brand in Canada with over 370 locations, Boston Pizza Royalties Income Fund, Boston’s The Gourmet Pizza located throughout the United States and Mexico, Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects, Kitchen Partners Ltd., Mr. Lube, Frogbox, velofix, White Rock Commercial the Naramata Benchlands and several others.

Jim also stars as one of the five Dragons on the highly successful CBC’s reality TV show, Dragon’s Den which he has been on for all 11 seasons. In addition to his various business and family commitments Jim is also a dedicated philanthropist and best-selling author with his book Decisions which made Canada’s and North America’s best sellers list for non-fiction with all proceeds from the book donated to Canadian charities.

Cody brings over 10 years of business experience in the fields of marketing, sales, and project management. Most recently, a Marketing Manager for Whole Foods, implementing strategies to develop business and brand loyalty.

In 2008, Cody cycled 4,000 miles from Seattle, WA to Washington DC to benefit people with disabilities.
Cody has a Bachelor of Communications and an MBA from Arizona State University.

As the Manager of Franchise Support and Operations, Adam’s role is to support velofix Franchise Partners in all aspects of their business. As the first point of contact for Franchise Partners, Adam helps develop and evaluate programs, gain commercial accounts, plan and execute events, and ensure velofix Partners have all the tools they need to run their business successfully.
Adam is also a certified mechanic and owns velofix Ottawa.
When not wrenching or supporting velofix Franchise Partners, Adam can be found coaching for 3 different clubs, organizing events of his own, and riding his bike.

Brian Vangel joins the Velofix team with over 17 years of business management and development experience. He has held positions from all sides of the bicycle and retail industries. This has enabled him to better understand the needs and wants of his clients while helping them successfully grow their businesses. He looks forward to applying this to the Velofix franchisees.

When not in the field working with the Franchise Partners you can find Brian watching college football, playing with his dog Brutus and enjoying rides down the beautiful Southern California coast.

Doug brings more than 11 years of cycling industry experience encompassing all aspects of retail, wholesale distribution, sales team management and business development. Formerly a collegiate wrestler out of Wisconsin, Doug first turned to cycling and triathlon as a means to stay in shape in the off-season. Shortly thereafter, his endurance sport addiction would grow to include everything from 5Ks to marathons, crits and century rides and three Ironman Louisville finishes. When not in office or on the bike, Doug proudly tackles the jobs of husband to his wife Heather, father to his daughter Hetty Rose and dog walker to his rescued lab Buttercup.

Samantha received her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Victoria where she was an active member of their Triathlon Club. This club motivated her to complete her first full marathon in May 2017 in addition to racing in various local half marathons. With her favorite form of cross training being road cycling, she decided to focus solely on riding. In August 2017 Samantha rode 200 km with The Ride to Conquer Cancer, which ultimately inspired her to sign up for more cycling events such as the Whistler GranFondo. Having worked as a Family and Youth counselor in her previous career, Samantha brings professional experience to the VFD Customer Service team.

Julian, originally from the South coast of England is a longtime cyclist competing in Triathlon, track and road racing as well as using his bicycle for transport and health. Julian spent many years in Air Traffic Control in the UK both operationally at London Gatwick and as a project specialist on real-time simulations. He moved to Vancouver in 2009 and segued into the bike industry to assist people in attaining their goals/needs on the bike. Julian has been selling and supporting all manner of bikes from children’s first bikes to commuters, as well as high-end road and mountain bikes most recently at one of Vancouver’s premier road studios. Julien also immersed himself for two years in the mountain biking Mecca of Squamish where he was a sales manager for a local bike shop dealing with the extremest of mountain bikers.

Brendan is the formulator and co founder of Vega, bestselling author of the Thrive book series, and editor in chief of alive magazine. He’s a former professional Ironman triathlete and a two-time Canadian 50km Ultra Marathon Champion. Brendan is regarded as one of the world’s leading authorities on plant-based performance nutrition, and therefore works with several NHL, NFL, MLB, UFC, and Olympic athletes. Brendan now invests in and works with socially responsible food & tech companies whose mandate is to fix our food system and reduce the environmental strain of food production.

One of triathlon’s most recognizable personalities, Dave Scott began his career at the inception of the sport in 1976. Scott is the first six-time Hawaii IRONMAN World Champion, crossing the finish line first in 1980, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1986 and 1987.

Scott was the first-ever inductee into the Ironman Hall of Fame in 1993 and celebrated his induction in 1994 by coming out of retirement to place second in Kona at the age of 40.  He returned to Kona one final time in 1996, and finished fifth overall at the age of 42!

Milestones of “firsts” mark Dave Scott’s career.  He was:

  • First to complete the Hawaii Ironman in under 10:00 hours
  • First to complete the Hawaii Ironman in under 9:00 hours
  • First to complete the Hawaii Ironman in under 8:30 hours
  • First champ to run the Ironman marathon in under 3:00 hours
  • First champ to run the Ironman marathon in under 2:55 hours
  • First champ to run the Ironman marathon in under 2:50 hours

Dave was also inducted into the Triathlete Magazine Hall of Fame in 1999 and into the USA Triathlon Hall of Fame in 2010.  In 2015, Dave was named to the Advisory Panel of Ironman U, where he serves as its Master Coach.

A native of Davis, CA, Scott currently resides in Boulder, CO, where he coaches many multisport athletes ranging from age-groupers to elite pros.

Scott continues his athletic and business pursuits through his corporate presentations, coaching clinics, instructional videos and as a contributor to numerous publications and websites.  He is also the director of the Dave Scott Institute for Multisports & Wellness at the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai on Hawaii’s Big Island.

By 2005, Nathan weighed in at over 200lbs and led a fast-food driven lifestyle.

After years of dedication and hard work, in 2009 he became a National Amateur Champion, and since has had many top-10 Ironman and Challenge Family finishes racing as a professional, while working a full-time career as a Fire Fighter.

He has lofty goals for the ITU Long Course World Championships in 2016, and is aiming for a Kona slot in the coming years. Nathan loves triathlon, but even more loves to share his infectiously positive attitude with those he interacts with.

velofix is thrilled to support Killam as he continues to test his limits and pursue Kona in the years to come.

Jenny grew up in Red Deer, Alberta and started modeling at the age of 15. Jenny later became obsessed with almost all sports including competing for Canada at Jr & Sr Worlds for Modern Pentathon. She is sure this is the reason how almost 2 decades later she discovered the bike and picked up Triathlons turning Pro at the age of 33 in 2010!
Jenny won her first race in 2012 (Branson 70.3) and completed her first full last year at Challenge Roth finishing 10th. She is also gearing up for a last minute decision to try and qualify for Kona for 2017!!
Her motto, “living an adventure everyday!”

Leanda Cave has been competing in triathlons since 1994. She began her triathlon career at the Olympic distance and gradually made her way to dominating long course triathlon. In 2012 Leanda was also named as one of the “World’s Fittest Women” by CNN. This is quite a recognition as 2012 was also an Olympic year. Leanda also won both the IM 70.3 World Championships and IM World Championships, the first female triathlete in history to accomplish both feats in a single year (2012).

Leanda was born in England, moved to Australia when she was only 4 and eventually moved back to the UK where she chose to represent Wales in triathlon. In 2008 Cave moved to United States, she currently lives and trains in Miami Beach when she’s not racing.

Rachel McBride

Rachel has been racing full-time as a professional triathlete since 2011. She is a two-time 70.3 Champion and has numerous podium and course record results in Olympic and long distance triathlon, including 2 bronze medals at ITU Long Distance World Championships and 9th place at Ironman 70.3 World Championships. Known as the “purple tiger,” she is one of the strongest cyclists on the world circuit, consistently first off the bike.
Along with a soft spot for cats and tattoos, Rachel is a board-certified Genetic Counsellor with two graduate degrees in genetics. She is an accomplished cellist and works in sexual health education, counselling and advocacy in beautiful Vancouver, Canada, where she lives and trains.
