Brian Thomas

Cycling has been a passion for Brian since he was a little kid. He has fond memories of racing around on his chromoly full-rigid mountain bike he received as a Christmas present in the late 80’s. He and his friends would take their bikes to the open fields behind their houses and duplicate the world’s greatest races. Those were the good ole days!

During high school and through college Brian continued to pursue his cycling passion and secured a part-time job at a local department store. He assembled and tuned bikes to earn extra money and also continue to grow his bicycle knowledge base. He learned about all different types of bikes, how they were built, assembled and how to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair them.

After college Brian worked at one of the premier Utah bike shops. He started in sales but his knowledge and passion were apparent to the shop owner who quickly promoted him to store manager. In this role Brian oversaw all aspects of daily operations and made sure that the shop delivered outstanding service to its customers. He wanted to exceed those customers’ expectations on a daily basis. While in this role, Brian received “hands-on” training with Specialized Bicycle Components University. He received all of their certifications, including mechanical and Body Geometry fit training. Brian has also completed the extensive Velofix screening process for operations and mechanics.

When Brian isn’t working on your bike you can usually find him riding one of his own bikes. He has a passion for competitive XC mountain bike racing in the local Salt Lake/Park City race scene, where he is one of the fastest slow guys around. He spends countless hours training for XC races, but has never won a single XC race but has fared better in endure races, which he has won. He has, however, won an enduro race.
